Carolina Connection

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) honored Carolina Connection, UNC Hussman's student-run radio show, in the SPJ’s annual Mark of Excellence Awards recognizing collegiate work published or broadcast during 2021.

Carolina Connection, led by Adjunct Instructor Adam Hochberg, won Best All-Around Radio Newscast; Charlotte Ix ’21 was a Radio News Reporting finalist; and the show — “Roy Williams retires as UNC men’s basketball coach, saying he’s no longer ‘the right man for the job” — placed as a finalist entry in the Radio Sports Reporting category.
