Carolina Photojournalism Workshop 2014: Edge of the Sound
From farmland to swamps, the lowlands along the southwestern edge of North Carolina's Albemarle Sound share a rich history and a fascinating landscape. One of North Carolina's most beautiful areas, this region boasts a multitude of stories — of hope and caring, survival and family.
The Carolina Photojournalism Workshop (CPJW) was founded in 2004. Each year, a group of UNC multimedia students travel to a unique part of the state to produce a documentary website in a week. Students work tirelessly with some of the finest professionals in the industry. In the Plymouth, North Carolina, area, students found special stories of the people that make the state great.
