Congrats, Hussman graduates

Friends and family members joined the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media to applaud the achievements and success of our graduates at the school's 2023 departmental spring commencement ceremony on May 13, 2023.

They celebrated achievements of students like Abby Young, who didn't let a cancer diagnosis in high school halt her dreams of attending Carolina and pursuing a career in advertising; Tushar Varma, who took a cross-country trip to create a documentary about independent bookstores; and master’s graduate Kate Slate who'll start her career working at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

Also, learn about Hussman students honored with outstanding graduate awards who were recognized during the ceremony.

As Dean Raul Reis said during the ceremony, “Can there be any question or doubt as to what school has the best and brightest students? You have proven over and over again that you, our UNC Hussman students, are simply the best.”
