MEJO 584 International Projects will produce a world-class multimedia website that explores sustainability issues facing the eastern Marajó Region and the people who live there. Reporters, videographers, photographers, designers, and developers will work together in five story teams to shape each topic focus over four weeks.
Marajó is a river-island located in the Amazon River about the size of Switzerland and is home to an environmental protection area and marine extraction reserve.
Students will spend two weeks in Brazil from June 5-19. The program requires one week of instruction pre-travel and one to two weeks post-travel.
