J-school awards $380k in scholarships and awards
The UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media awarded more than $380,000 in scholarships and awards to undergraduate students during the 2014-15 academic year.
Through the generosity of donors, the school administers more than $6.6 million of endowments that support scholarships and awards for undergraduate students, including funds that support international experiences, internships and extracurricular activities.
"This school is proud to have these generous alumni and friends who are committed to the success of the next generation of great media professionals," said Dean Susan King. "The scholarships and awards that donors have made possible reward our truly deserving students."
Graduate students also receive scholarships and awards from funding that is generated by approximately $1 million in endowed funds. Additionally, the school awards graduate students more than $1.75 million each year — including the generous Roy H. Park Fellowships — made possible by private support.
