Two rising Hussman School seniors earn prestigious Dow Jones News Fund internships for Summer 2019

Two UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media students are among 79 undergraduate and graduate students from across the United States selected for paid Dow Jones News Fund (DJNF) internships in Summer 2019.
Selected students will work as data and digital journalists, business reporters and multiplatform editors at 65 leading news organizations across the United States. Interns attend one-week summer internship residencies at five journalism schools in May and June before reporting to work.
Hussman School participants include:
- Hannah Lang '20 will attend the American City Business Journals Business Reporting Program from June 2-8, 2019, at New York University before working with Triangle Business Journal
- Steven Payne Lubbers '20 will attend the DJNF Business Reporting Program from May 26-June 1, 2019, at New York University before working with The Detroit News
The Dow Jones News Fund received more than 779 applications for the Summer 2019 program. Lang and Lubbers will be the only participants interning in North Carolina and Michigan, respectively.
