Stuart Scott, 1965 – 2015

Alumnus Stuart Scott '87, longtime ESPN anchor, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, after a battle with cancer.

"I never had the privilege of meeting Stuart Scott, but his love of all things UNC was legendary," said J-school Dean Susan King. "He brought intelligence and passion to his work as a sportscaster and has always been an inspiration for current students who wanted to be like him – a successful broadcaster who didn’t waste words or the opportunity to say something important."

Scott is being remembered by friends and colleagues with many stories and tributes.
