Breaking History: An Evening with Chris Hedges, Feb. 13

As part of the PlayMakers Repertory Company's Vision Series, students and faculty are invited to attend "An Evening with Chris Hedges" at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13 in the Paul Green Theatre, to join in a conversation about what he calls "America’s cultural addiction to war."
Hedges, a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist who has reported for The Christian Science Monitor, National Public Radio and The New York Times is the best-selling author of “War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning,” which was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Nonfiction.
The UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media's Penelope Muse Abernathy will introduce Hedge's talk and will moderate a panel discussion with Hedges and PlayMaker's Producing Artistic Director Joseph Haj following the lecture.
The event, which runs in conjunction with the theatre's series combined production of William Shakespeare's Henry IV and Henry V is part of the company's outreach program event, “Breaking History: Power, Politics and the Legacy of War.”
The event is free and open to the public. Reservations, which are not required, can be made online at:
