Daniels Jr. Lecture with Melissa Harris-Perry to be held March 21 at 7 p.m. at Alumni Hall in the George Watts Hill Alumni Center. We hope you will arrive early to join us for a pre-event reception beginning at 6 p.m. at Alumni Hall with Harris-Perry, students, faculty, staff and the campus and local communities. Harris-Perry is the host and managing editor of “The Takeaway” daily public radio program — produced by WNYC and distributed by PRX — that airs Monday through Thursday on WUNC. She is also the Maya Angelou Presidential Chair in the Department of Politics and International Affairs at Wake Forest University. From 2012-16, she hosted the television show “Melissa Harris-Perry” on weekend mornings on MSNBC and was awarded the Hillman Prize for broadcast journalism. Following Harris-Perry's opening remarks, she will be joined on stage for discussion with three top UNC Hussman students — Taylin Cain '23, Leslie Guzmán '23 and Carolyn Schmitt '23 (M.A.).
