Wells: A Conversation with the Co-Founders of the Society" on Feb. 23, 2022, at 7 p.m. This event will feature the IBWS co-founders: Nikole Hannah-Jones, Ron Nixon and Topher Sanders discussing the legacy that Ida B. Wells has had on investigative journalism and how her contribution to the field continues to impact the work of so many journalists today. This event is FREE. The discussion will be moderated by D'Weston Haywood, co-author of “Journalism and Jim Crow: White Supremacy and the Black Struggle for a New America” and associate professor of history at Hunter College, City University of New York. The Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting has been based in the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media since 2019 with the mission to increase and retain reporters and editors of color in the field of investigative reporting.
